According to a new study, the percentage of adults who get more than 9 hours of sleep is on the rise while the percentage of people who get less than 6 hours of sleep per night has decreased. Researchers say that sleeping more than 9 hours per night can lead to an increased risk of heart disease, thinking problems and premature death. However, the researchers pointed out that people involved in the study might have recorded how much time they spent in bed and actually sleeping, thus it is not clear if longer sleep is responsible for poor health or if it is a sign of other problems such as depression of little physical activity.
